Dictionary Day: focus
Focus is the act of concentrating on a particular object, idea, or task, while disregarding other distractions. It is the ability to direct one’s attention and concentration on a specific goal or task.
Why Dictionaries?
Dictionaries are important because they provide a comprehensive source of information about the meanings of words. They are essential for understanding the language and for communicating effectively. They can help to improve writing and speaking skills, as well as providing a reference for spelling and pronunciation.
Dictionary Day is an annual celebration of the English language and the dictionary. It is celebrated on October 16th, the birthday of Noah Webster, the creator of the first American dictionary.
