Halloween’s Origin
Act 1:
(The stage is set in a small town square on the edge of a forest. A crowd of people have gathered around a storyteller, who is standing in the center of the square. The storyteller is an old man with a long white beard and a twinkle in his eye.)
Storyteller: Gather round, my friends, and I shall tell you a tale of adventure and courage!
(The crowd cheers and the storyteller begins to tell his story.)
Storyteller: It all began on a dark and stormy night in October. The wind was howling and the trees were swaying, as if something was coming. Little did anyone know, something was coming.
(The storyteller pauses for dramatic effect.)
Storyteller: Suddenly, a bright light appeared in the sky. It was an alien spacecraft, and it was heading straight for Earth. The people of the town were terrified, but they had no idea what was about to happen.
The spacecraft landed in the center of town, and out stepped a group of aliens. They were tall and thin, with large heads and big eyes. They were here to take over the planet, and they had a plan.
The aliens told the people of the town that they would give them one night to celebrate their freedom. They said that on this night, they could dress up in costumes and go out into the night. They could do whatever they wanted, as long as they stayed away from the aliens.
(The storyteller pauses again, and the crowd is silent.)
Storyteller: The people of the town agreed, and the aliens left. That night, the people of the town celebrated their freedom by dressing up in costumes and going out into the night. They called it Halloween, and it has been celebrated ever since.
But the aliens never left. They stayed hidden in the shadows, watching and waiting. They were waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and take over the planet.
Storyteller: So, every Halloween, the people of the town celebrate their freedom, but they never forget the aliens that are still out there, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
(The crowd erupts in applause. The storyteller bows and smiles. The aliens watch from the woods.)
