The story begins in a small, dusty shop in a forgotten corner of the city. Inside, a mysterious old man sits behind a counter, surrounded by strange and exotic items. He looks up as a young man enters the shop, and beckons him closer.
“Ah, I see you have come seeking knowledge,” the old man says. “I can offer you a way to access a world of fantasy and adventure, but it will not be easy. You must find a twenty-sided die, and roll it. If you roll the right number, you will be granted access to a mysterious portal that will take you to a place of great power and mystery. There, you must find a powerful magical artifact that is hidden away, and use it to save the world.”
The young man takes the die and leaves the shop, determined to find the artifact and save the world. He travels to the mysterious portal, and rolls the die. Miraculously, he rolls the right number, and the portal opens.
He steps through the portal and finds himself in a strange and wondrous world. He soon discovers that the magical artifact he seeks is hidden in a secret chamber deep within a nearby mountain. He must brave many dangers and overcome many obstacles in order to find the artifact and save the world.
