Bat Day: The Metamorphosis of the Intellect

Short Stories about Vampire Bats: The Metamorphosis of the Intellect

The Metamorphosis of the Intellect

I’m holding the book in my hands, its leather cover worn and cracked, the pages yellowed with age. It’s the forbidden dictionary, recovered from an ancient civilization, said to increase the readers intelligence but also turn them slowly into a shapeshifting vampire bat.

I’m intrigued, my curiosity piqued. I open the book, the smell of old parchment filling my nostrils. I begin to read, the words flowing over me like a torrent. I can’t stop, I’m entranced by the knowledge I’m gaining.

As I read, I feel a change coming over me. My senses are heightened, I can see in the dark, and I feel an insatiable thirst for blood. I know what’s happening, but I can’t stop it. The dictionary is changing me.

I’m becoming a creature of the night, a shapeshifting vampire bat. I’m terrified, but I can’t help but feel a strange thrill. I’m more powerful than I ever thought possible.

I fly through the night, hunting for prey. I feel a surge of exhilaration as I sink my fangs into the neck of a unsuspecting victim. The blood is warm and sweet, and I drink it greedily.

I’m a monster, but I’m also something more. I’m a creature of the night, a shapeshifting vampire bat. I’m powerful and intelligent, and I’m not afraid of anything.

Do I want to continue down this path? Do I want to become a monster forever?
